Resolved Question: Does this sound like it would be a nice house for a family?
I have a project where I have to design a home for a family of at least 3 people. My family I am designing for has 3 people and a dog. A mom, a dad, and a teenage girl. Here is what the house includes: Basement: One medium sized room, with a large space for a TV and several spaces for chairs and sofas. Also a closet, that has about 3 long shelves. Main Floor: 1 bathroom, a kitchen, and a small dining room. The living room is off of the dining room and the computer room is just next to the kitchen. It also has a patio and a small, fenced in yard with lots of landscaping area. Upstairs level: In the master bedroom there is one bathroom, a walk in closet and a hang off space big enough for a bed and a dresser. Also on this floor is another room complete with a full bathroom, and a non walk in closet. The last room has a walk in closet, and is a fairly small bedroom. That's all! What is your opinion?Oh and there is a small shed behind the 2 car garage! moreResolved Question: Outside jobs-Nature Careers.?

Please offer DETAILED support for your answer, and be neat and easy to follow. Thank you. Using quadratics, solve this problem: Landscape Design: A town is planning a child-care facility. It wants to fence in a rectangular playground using one of the walls of the building. What is the largest playground that can be fenced in using 100 ft of donated fencing? The book (Florida: Prentice Hall Mathematics, Algebra II) offers a small picture. I will describe it briefly below: A small playground, featuring dotted lines forming a rectangle. The top and bottem of this aieral few are marked "L (lowercase)," and on the side, the expression: 100 - 2L. Without using calculator to do diffacult functions, solve, and explain all aspects of this question. Thank you. moreResolved Question: Landscape design question...?
How do I create visual depth with only a 2' wide planting area? More Information: The wall is 50' long and runs a long my pond. The top of the wall is chainlink fence the bottom is grey block. I want to block out my neighbor's house which is big, close by and orange :s. I am creating a Japanese inspired garden. So I would be using plants like podocarpus, hydrangea vine and evergreen wisteria vine. I am open to any plant suggestions as well. If I plant a few different things along the wall (different colors/textures) would it help to break it up? I only have 2 feet of planting area between the pond and wall. I am hoping to make it look like the edge of a forest.I would love to use clumping bamboo but its to close to the pond liner and I am afraid it would pierce the liner. Also 2' wide is not enough space for a clumper, as far as I know. moreResolved Question: accounting hw help needed?

Mr. Locke and three other men recently bought all four of the newly built houses on the north side of Lotus Lane. Each of the new owners, including Tom, began landscaping his backyard with the installation of a fence; all the fences are different designs. From the clues below, can you determine each man's full name, type of fence, and the location of his house on Lotus Lane? 1. A next-door neighbor of Ed installed a chain-link fence. 2. Mr. Post, who isn't the man with the picket fence, lives in the second house east of Joe's house. 3. A man who lives next-door to Marvin built a horizontal board fence. 4. Mr. Key, who doesn't live next to Ed, admired the lattice fence that his next-door neighbor on the west built. 5. Marvin is not Mr. Gates. 6. Joe, who isn't the one with the lattice fence, does not live in the house at the west end of Lotus Lane. moreResolved Question: Creative design possible on a laptop ?????
I am a landscape gardener, and I am looking for some way to take pictures of a clients garden, upload them to my laptop then sit with the client and re-design the pictures with input from the client. Possibly a graphics tablet? photoshop? touch sensitive screen ? so I can draw straight onto the digital images. It would be good if there was a package available that provided different options of pre made objects such as fencing, block paving, turf, decking, shrubs which could be placed onto the photograph to show what the finished garden would look like. I have seen a kitchen designer use something similar where he took a picture of the clients kitchen, then showed her what it would look like with the new kitchen fitted. Any ideas Thanks moreResolved Question: Best way to edit/design digital garden pictures on a laptop??

I really, really hate my bare loan. It's a KB Florida house: big tall cement block and a tiny yard without anything to rest my eyes on. I'd love to create a nice shady place, but my problems are: 1) I have very little time because I take care of my little baby; 2) I have very limited money to work with - maybe $1000 at the most; 3) I am skinny female with no help from my husband, so putting in bricks and paving is out of the question. Is there anything I can do to make my narrow bare back yard a little more attractive? I absolutely lack designing taste and abilities and books on landscaping are like math to me. Please, maybe some professional landscaping advice on planting around borders and a little in the middle? Fence is unfortunately also out of the question. Thank you so much. moreResolved Question: Please check my answers to those word problems?

We moved into this house last summer & now that warmer weather is coming, I'd like to focus some time on making the backyard look nicer. It's small (16.5'W by 39.5'L, plus a large deck). I have no idea what to do with it & was hoping some of you might have some design ideas. I will be putting up some new fencing (I was leaning towards this bamboo fencing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=350047135604&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=022 ). I'd also like to have some flowers (I live in Hardiness Zone 6, if that helps with floral suggestions) & possibly a small pond or maybe just a pond-less waterfall (this would go back in one of the corners near the garage). Any flowers would have to be put in a raised flower bed (becaue of the dog). If it helps, here's a link to some pictures of my backyard: http://s283.photobucket.com/albums/kk281/xbeautifulxxdreamerx/backyard%20and%20deck/ I'd appreciate any design ideas you might have to make it look nicer! Thanks! moreResolved Question: Are you business oriented? what have you tried?
Ever since I was little I wanted to be in business, whatever it was. When i was 14 I put away shopping carts at local grocery store collecting quarters, just a friend of mine and me, we made just about minimum wage that we were damn happy with being unable to get a job due to age. Then I tried my lawncare business lol good times. I had my flyers made, business card printed, name in the phonebook, it was fun and good life experience, but didn't really make much money, i miss those times though Now I just started my landscaping/a bit of contracting company, decks, fences, patios, interlocking, natural stones, and just overall designing aspect, demolition, basement waterproofing, and I LOVE IT. Well of course it's winter and i'm disabled for a bit but this year we're gonna hit it off big, my parter and I already financed a bobcat. What have you tried personally? I'm not talking about dealing drugs or getting a job. moreResolved Question: Are you business oriented? what have you tried?

I have about 1/4 acre of yard at my south florida home. We have chain-link fences all around, with the back of our property on a canal. I would love to have a place for the kids to play, a vegetable garden and a butterfly garden. And I would like to limit the amount of grass - but there is sooo much to do. Where should I start? I don't have the money to hire someone and want to do it in stages, but work out the overall plan before I start anything. Anyone have any ideas on how to start? Should I just start working on 5'x5' sections? I am at a loss and the season is already well on it's way. Thanks moreResolved Question: Want to start my own Landscaping Business But not sure how to do that?
I have been told by many that my work is very beautiful and that I should go into business for myself. I love to design yards and I feel I am very good at it. I have never had my own business before so I really don't even know where to start. Do I need a licence for this? When and If I did start do I pay for all the lawn design and then charge them for it afterwards? How much does ones usually charge for something like this? I know it cost me a pretty penny to do my own yard.LOL Plus all the time I had into it. You are to design and draw the landscape for the backyard of your new home. Also, you are to calculate the cost of sodding the backyard. Consider the following in your design and calculations: 1. Your backyard is rectangular with dimensions 60ft by 40ft. 2. There will be an in-ground pool, also rectangular in shape, with dimensions 20feet by 12 feet. You may place this pool anywhere in the yard, but local laws requires that it is at least 3 feet from the edge of the yard. 3. Also there is going to be a circular flower garden. This garden will be 6 feet in radius. Again, you may place this garden anywhere in the yard. 4. The sod should cover all of the yard except,of course the garden and pool areas. The sod costs $9.25 per square foot, and is only sold by the square foot(no fractional part of a square foot). You may need to round up to the nearest foot. 5. The wooden fence you plan to buy should stand around the perimeter of your yard and costs $30 per foot. Just help me or explain itI only could use one piece of computer paper moreResolved Question: Can anyone recommend a company in Glasgow who do mono blocking and/or garden design?
I'm looking for a company near Glasgow to do our driveway and I was going to go with mono block. What should I be asking these companies so I don't get ripped off? Also we want to landscape our back garden which has a steep downwards slope. We thought decking straight out over it was the best solution. Any other ideas? We would need to put up an 8ft fence if we go for decking. Do you need planning permission for that? There is only woodland behind us. Can anyone out there recommend a company for either? Many thanks.Glasgow, Scotland! moreResolved Question: We are putting up a privacy fence and would like to add landscaping?
