Resolved Question: Let's see how many poets we have here?
Make up something that is poetic....it can be long or short and it doesn't have to be complete. Mine-incomplete, but a work in progress The desert sands sculpt her, passion throes with languor vivid in the soft slow arc and moans of wind and breath spine tingling softly from fingers of knowing handsIn case you can't tell, i love writing poetryPandora, very nice, keep it up. moreResolved Question: Sand Sculpting Solutions?!?!?
I'm going to a sand sculpting event this weekend, and I searched pictures of some of the sculptings... i was wondering if people who build those and like the ginormous castles, do they use some sort of solution to make the sand stick together?? if so what is it?? and where can i buy it?? moreResolved Question: Would a dentist or orthodontist fix a tooth this way?
This will probably sound odd, but... here it goes. I do not have enough money (or good enough insurance) to get braces. But, really, I only have one crooked tooth that you can see. It's one of my very front top teeth, and it's not that bad, but it makes me look like I have buck teeth in some pictures. Plus, the two front ones are longer than the ones beside them, in the first place. I was wondering, would it be strange if I asked a dentist (or is this a question for an orthodontist?) if they would be able to perhaps... sculpt it to look like it was straight (maybe sand off the overlapping part a bit and even out the bottom)? It does not look crooked at the gum line - it simply overlaps the other front one a little, and has a tiny bit of an angle at the bottom. And, because the two front ones are sort of large, I don't think it would look odd, given the extra "leveling" room for straightness. Would he/she be able to shorten the one next to it, as well to make them all even? Or are they supposed to be longer? Perhaps they could stick a cap of some sort on it? Either way, I think that it would make my teeth look completely straight on the top. Would this be an odd question to ask a dentist/orthodontist? How much would something like this cost? Thank you for reading, and I would appreciate all comments and suggestions. :D moreResolved Question: This was meant to be my intro to my mixtape........?
I was going to make just one huge verse, nothing else for it, but I still have to edit it, and then work like hell on flowing it. But anyway I haven't posted much lately so I added a few old bars. Tightened it up a little and thought you might like it. Rate, hate, etc....... (IE The last few bars were something I wrote before I went into surgery for my arm's muscles around December, and I felt like I wasn't going to make it). Still though. We faced similar judgments, on our life’s stands Walked thru darkness straight into this light’s land To survive the night and, holding on to my hand Looking into blues the sky ran, coloring oceans that lie sand That brighten, hopes sight bans, all right then Words strike thin, on pages write in, as the line ends Journal entries, that crumble like the plots foiled in me As soils intrigues, plants grew from morals in seeds As in my mind I held loyal the beast, that spoils our peace Feasting on the blue tide, washing away the you and I In suicide, with the ink that blew my mind With teardrops glued to lies, by a love who’s so blind Set up crucified, by drained hopes, tore by rainbows That pain moans, under grave stones, of the same old Sane quotes, given late tolls, that blood veins hold Blank souls, with an-gels, as heaven’s gates close On what fate sows, intertwined, with inner lies In her eyes, as I insert lines, the sinner signs On bitter skies, with the ink that cursive ties With bitter imagines of love sculpted die Since the surface iced, beyond the purpose rise Like The Living Dead, finally getting words I’ve given read By the same lips in red, I kissed instead Of watching the clock as missed sins slept So my bliss sends clefs, as this distance left Me sitting on my death bed counting my breaths Just a flatline on the screen is the sound of my death Living in the ground with the rest Holding dead with no emotion in my chestI know I still have a way to lead into the first part. Truthfully I'm probably going to scrap a few bars keep a few and make it like the listener is going to be drawn into my life, my shoes, for the whole listen. moreResolved Question: Have you ever made anything weird with snow or sand?

need help i cant summarize this passage please help title: tsunami uncovers ancient city in india MAHABALIPURAM, India (AP)--Archaeologists have begun underwater excavations of what is believed to be an ancient city and parts of a temple uncovered by the tsunami off the coast of a centuries-old pilgrimage town. Three rocky structures with elaborate carvings of animals have emerged near the coastal town of Mahabalipuram, which was battered by the Dec. 26 tsunami. As the waves receded, the force of the water removed sand deposits that had covered the structures, which appear to belong to a port city built in the seventh century, said T. Satyamurthy, a senior archaeologist with the Archaeological Survey of India. Mahabalipuram is already well known for its ancient, intricately carved shore temples that have been declared a World Heritage site and are visited each year by thousands of Hindu pilgrims and tourists. According to descriptions by early British travel writers, the area was also home to seven pagodas, six of which were submerged by the sea. The government-run archaeological society and navy divers began underwater excavations of the area on Thursday. "The tsunami has exposed a bas relief which appears to be part of a temple wall or a portion of the ancient port city. Our excavations will throw more light on these," Satyamurthy told The Associated Press by telephone from Madras, the capital of Tamil Nadu state. The six-foot rocky structures that have emerged in Mahabalipuram, 30 miles south of Madras, include an elaborately carved head of an elephant and a horse in flight. Above the elephant's head is a small square-shaped niche with a carved statue of a deity. Another structure uncovered by the tsunami has a reclining lion sculpted on it. According to archaeologists, lions, elephants and peacocks were commonly used to decorate walls and temples during the Pallava period in the seventh and eighth centuries. "These structures could be part of the legendary seven pagodas. With the waters receding and the coastline changing, we expect some more edifices to be exposed," Satyamurthy said. moreResolved Question: Plexi-glass dance floor & sand sculpting companies in Central Florida (or anywhere in Fl. if not central Fl.)?
I am having a beach wedding in January. Know of any Fl companies at all that do this? The internet is of no help! I also need to find a company that does sand sculpting for a beach ceremony. Any companies you may know??? moreResolved Question: This dream I find unexplainable, what does it mean?
Forgive the writing style, I am writing a short story with it for a contest. White lies before me, in its infinite continuation bare trees, black in color show. In what, in mind, is the center of this vast expanse lays a cherry-wood table lavishly decorated with lotuses, humming bird, cranes and other animals which I recognize from their description in books I have read. Atop this table sculpted in the Japanese style there is a black of what seems to be ivory laid into the tabletop which has been sectioned into four by four diagonal wooden roads running to a scare in the center of the table. In the very center is a traditional Japanese tea pot, surrounding this beautiful brass pot, are four Japanese tea puppets, each with a tea cup on their plates. They each face a different wood opening to let them escape the wooden center in which they await to be freed by a soul in need of a cup of tea. Around the table lie four pillows in Japanese style, perfectly centered on their side awaiting a body to be sat on by. The sand that blows around them creating a white cloud dares not approach them leaving an empty space in which stands a table ready to welcome a lonely soul in need of tea. From my vantage point atop a tree of misery I admire this table, devoid of evil cruelty or even the slightest thing other then serenity and the anxiousness of the things around it to help a human. The feeling of hate that is coming from the tree which I burden lessens as I gaze into the eyes of the tea puppets, inching to serve me tea. I stepped down from the deadwood and let my steppes pull me to the welcoming environment ahead. The sand blows onto me and under my clothing irritating my skin. I can see the tea room well threw its walls of sand. As I stepped threw the barrier to the pillow awaiting me, I feel the sand in my clothing pulling or being pushed away. When I was inside completely the sand had ripped pieces of my shirt off. I put my arm forward and opened my hand. In front of me appeared a wooden frame, inside it a blank sheet of whit washi paper displayed itself. I moved my hand about drawing a symbol which I recognized as “life”. I let my arm fall in a state of ecstasy and serenity mixed together in a potent feeling which I can only describe as fulfillment. I let myself fall onto the pillow the remains of my shirt fell to the sandy ground and flew out of the room leaving it clean. I waited a while, then from the ground arose thread, indigo, marine, gold, and jet black. They each rapped around me one at a time forming a cylinder before collapsing into there own part of a garment. It consisted of all the components of a Japanese martial arts masters accoutrements. One of the tea puppets came to life; it rolled down its cosway to the corner of the table and turned itself to continue to me. Once it had turned to me I removed the cup from the plate the puppet held in its diminutive hands. As I heard it leave I looked down to the tabletop from which a plate was rising, I rested my cup onto it and looked to the teapot. A silver dragon slithered up to the pots handle and rolled around it. Its head extended to me and it lifted itself with the pot above the table and came to me. It poured tea into my cup, returned the pot to its place near where the doll whom had served me had taken it place again. It left the pot and came to rest beside me on my rite where it was tied to my hip and curved, in that position it stayed. I drank my tea and stood, I turned to look out at the desert before me. I remove the dragon, now a katana from it home and thrust it into the ground and said “Kami No Kocha” and the sand parted in a chaos of wind and delight on my behalf. I picked up the dragon sword and let it slither home, and I walked to wherever I felt drawn, hoping to find another station of tea, with the intention to play Igo. Pleas tell me what it means. moreResolved Question: how do people make those awesome sand sculptures without them falling apart?

I should have been a snarled piece of tortured driftwood, Ocean-etched, Seething with remembrances of roots... And glinting leaves with choirs of birds. Now, I brood sullen on a shore where gulls perch deadly, In search of a slow crab, and Slower twilight. I pose with hollows sculpted in my memory...of another's Scorpions. But I remember the Sun...tugging a towel to fluff away Sand clinging to pearled-wet skin, and Gritty, carpeted feet...from granular-mangled sunscapes. No. No god or parent could have foretold my escape to a Beach...where my Mother was the foam, and Her love washed me in waves... Tides beckoning me to follow. My mother could summon scorpions out of the Dead Land, Punishing me with them if I stayed away from The funerals... I was never haunted by those ghosts, as she said I'd be. Instead, they laughed...and, Spoke to me. My mother never knew...they did not speak to her in life, or Death. They were only dead and gone. I will not grieve for them... In Time, my mother may remember the sparkle in their eyes. Until then, there are doors to close quietly, and Dishes to be washed. There are scorpions to be killed...they peer at me, Arching their tail, waiting for the right moment To vindicate my mother. She has never loved the dead. She has never loved. I will sing loudly those hymns of a cracked, rusty soul... Remembering that I have smiled. Laughed. There can never be scorpions in Heaven. Though once there was venom... In Paradise moreResolved Question: What think you of 'Scorpions'?

I want it to look like the one in these pics below. Also this is what the guy said on how to make it but i need a better explanation. http://www.cosplay.com/photo/1280991/ http://www.cosplay.com/photo/1280993/ First I covered my face with rubber silicone then took it off in 2 pieces, put them together and filled it with concrete. and Ta-dah! you have a perfect replica of who's ever head the helmet will be for. After that you get some clay (non-sulfur base is best) and sculpt the design of the helmet. Try to make it as smoothe as possible (i used about 12 pounds worth of clay). After you are done with the sculpting cover it with silicone rubber [like before] take it apart in 2 pieces, but this time dont stick it back together. then fiberglass each piece like normally. after that put the 2 pieces together with a strip of fiberglass [maybe more then one strip] Then you sand [use body filler if needed], paint, clear and finished^^ moreResolved Question: Alternative materals for sand block sculpting?
I'm looking for an alternative ingredient to solidify a sand mixture for producing sand blocks. These blocks would be used in subtractive sculpting / carving. The stabilizing ingredient I am familiar with is a two part resin that hardens to solidify the sand mixture. This mixture uses only 2 ingredients, sand and the resin. You may have seen this mixture used to make sand molds for casting metals in industrial applications as well as fine art applications. I like to use these sand blocks (2ft. cubes and smaller) for carving as they are easy to produce and shape. I'm looking to find an environmentally friendly ingredient to replace the resin in the mix. Possibly something that could be rehydrated after use and formed back into another block, ie: how pottery clay(not fired) can be recycled by rehydrating it. I'd like to achieve large blocks (2x2x2 ft.) without fracturing in the curing process. I only need to carve the blocks, not use them for casting metal. Thanks for any advice moreResolved Question: How to use a Sanding Drum Mandrel on my Dremel Tool?
I am an aritst, mostly with paintings and wood burnings. Recently gained an interest in carving wood and sculpting. I have a Dremel tool and every time I use the sanding drum mandrel attachement, where you place the sanding "tube" over it, the tube flies off. I have checked and everything is the right size---even my tool which came with the sanding tubes do not fit the drum. I have tried hot glue and white glues. they work for a very short time and then the sanding tubes fly off eventually. The kit came with no instructions and I have searched on line, found the different parts but again, no instructions. Any thoughts? Again---its not the drum that is coming out---its locked in tight. Its the sanding tube. And i am using only wood. Thanks. moreResolved Question: my newest poem!?
ok its about love so yeaa i looked at my other comments on my other questions to give me ideas to make it better even though those 2 peoms i wrote about 1 1/2 yeara ago ok here it is (and i made sure the spelling was 100% correct) My love for you is like the surging sea, Wild and passionate against the sand. I'm the surf withdrawing helplessly; You're the firm and finely sculpted land. I love you as the wind caresses grass, Running gentle fingers through its hair. I whisper my sweet nothings as I pass; You bend away as if you didn't care. Sometimes I feel that I am like the sun, Shining down on you with hot desire. You tan yourself precisely 12:00 to 1:00, Then shade yourself from my too ardent fire. Ah, words! Why do I care? What do they say? But I'm in love, so there's no other way! -taina marrero ok well comment thanks =D moreResolved Question: Can I apply acrylic paint (art or craft grade) over oil-based wood stain on large pine wood carving?
I recently sculpted a huge figure from a white pine log. I used an oil-based walnut stain and was not totally happy with the results ( stain was applied a few days ago). I decided to augment parts of the piece with paint / wash / glaze. I have TONS of acrylic paint - both craft and artist grades - but I don't know if if I can use this over oil stain. Do I need primer? Do I re-sand the areas? Or should I use oil-based paint? I'm mostly interested in a semi-transparant white-wash that will allow some of the dark grain underneath to show through. Any suggestions? THANKS!! moreResolved Question: How do you clean and prepare fresh dug clay for sculpting? It has many fine rocks and dirt in it?
We have 10 lbs of fresh Maine coast clay and I forget from my many art classes how to clean the grit before we use it. It involves soaking it in water. I'm just not sure what for and how does this remove the rocks/sand? moreResolved Question: If I get bored waiting for the party in front of me while golfing, can I play in the sand traps while waiting?
